Lemons

Why is lemon juice so important? It depends on what you’re doing with it unless you’re squeezing it in someone’s eyes and in that case, you may have other more important things to worry about. For the most part, it brightens but too much of it and your face will pucker. I think it’s the same with some people. You know the ones, the small dose people.

You love ‘em but only in small doses. What do you do if it’s someone who’s going to be in your life for a while? Then you have to decide, do you draw your boundaries and go no or low contact? Or do you simply decide to see the good that is in there and accept them as they are? After all, a lemon can’t become a mango no matter how hard they try.

I can’t tell you what to do because every situation and every relationship is different and a blanket statement is just what it is. What I can do is suggest that you don’t waste your energy hating them because you could be putting that energy into other things.

What things you may ask? Things that bring you joy. Why those things? It’s quite difficult to spend your energy hating someone when you have a smile on your face and your joy is literally bubbling over.

So what are the things that bring you joy? Feel free to share them with me and/or do one of those things today.

With love,

Ayla

Ps In case it isn’t obvious, writing brings me joy.
